Victorian Walnut Brass Bound Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A brass bound writing slope in walnut that dates to around 1870

In excellent original condition with an attractive deep patterned grain waxed finish, with a brass cartouche and escutcheon and has brass bound corners and straps to the carcass

It has a replacement antique black, with gold tooling leather skiver, a set of screw top brass inkwells and comes with a working lock and key

A divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised which releases a sprung panel to reveal a pair of secret drawers

A really attractive item that would make an elegant gift for a loved one

It measures 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 6 inches high
