Victorian Burr Walnut Domed Writing Slope

19th century
Description

A magnificent domed writing slope in burr walnut that dates to around 1870

In fabulous original condition, in a mid brown waxed finish with a strong burr configuration and with an abalone and mother of pearl cartouche and escutcheon

It has a replacement antique blue with gold tooling leather skiver, a working lock and key and a set of brass screw top inkwells

The divider to the left of the pen tray can be raised to release a sprung secret drawer

Measures 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 6 1/2 inches high

A really attractive item that would make an elegant gift for a loved one
