Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this Ormolu Porcelain Mantel Clock to the 19th Century.
Fine hand-painted porcelain panels to the dial, front and sides, all of which are decorated in Sevres style "bleu de celeste' with floral, bird and musical instrument themes, cherubs to the front. Gilt spandrels and foliate engraving grace the front frame. Beautiful ormolu cast decoration to all sides and especially to the base. Raised on adjustable gilded circular conical feet. Key included (not original).

The eight-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell and is stamped with the makers monogram "JBD". Complete with pendulum. Serial number "35432 15_3" stamped on the movement.
