The ormolu is in stunning, untouched, original condition. Porcelain has a blue ground and is delicately painted with a delightful scene of Amor as a child about to release a bird, symbolic of love, with a young woman.

To the top is a large urn, painted with a scene of the young woman in a romantic country setting. The dial is beautifully decorated with delicate overglaze gilt decoration. The porcelain is signed to the rear. Please note that this type of clock does not have a glazed front door.

The French movement is of very high quality and has the clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate. Pendulum is a replacement. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
