Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Made from Walnut, the domed top has an inset brass carrying handle, coordinating with all of the other brass fittings and hardware, all having been painstakingly removed, professionally polished to gleam and re-assembled.
The fitted tray has ring compartments either end, each would accommodate about four or five rings, the centre is fitted for a pocket watch, now better suited to perhaps a wrist watch or bracelet.
The glazed doors are bevelled and when open reveal two drawers for the storage of plenty of goodies.
Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890/1900 it remains in superb condition. 8 1/2" x 6" x 7 1/2" tall.
