Pretty German Hanau Solid Silver Cherub Box C1890 Antique

Description

A beautiful German Hanau solid silver pill box. It is hallmarked with German Hanau marks for J.D. Schleissner & Sohne. I would date it to c1890. It has been superbly made being of semicircle form and the lid depicting cherubs. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the inside is clean and the lid closes tightly. It measures approx. 2 inches (4.8cm) across by 1.25 inches (3cm) wide by 0.5 inch (1.5cm) tall and weighs 24 grams. A very pretty piece.

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
