A Rare Novelty Pocket Snuff Box in the Form of an English Naval Officers Peaked Cap.

This superb hand made novelty snuff box was most likely made by a ship's engineer occupying his time off duty whilst at sea. It is a brilliantly hand made one off piece which is in the form of an English naval officer's peaked cap. It is made from a mixture of brass, copper and white metal most likely nickel. On the underside of the cap, there is a very well fitted hinged lid which opens to reveal a tinned interior for storing snuff. This delightful object is very tactile and sits well in the hand and has a pleasing weight showing the quality of its construction.
