We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Dating from the eighteenth century, this antique miniature apprentice chest follows the Georgian style. The structure combines mahogany and pine timber with a warm brown finish. Visible details include a moulded top edge, two short drawers positioned over three long graduated drawers, turned wooden knobs, and shaped bracket feet. Natural signs of age and handling appear on the wooden surfaces. Measuring 39 cm high, 37 cm wide, and 19.5 cm deep, this diminutive chest provides compact storage for jewellery and small trinkets in a modern home. Placed on top of a sideboard in a study, library, or living room, the piece serves as an authentic decorative object with period character.

An apprentice chest is a scaled-down chest of drawers crafted by a cabinetmakers apprentice to demonstrate their skill, precision, and mastery of joinery techniques before becoming a recognised craftsman.

These pieces were typically constructed from hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or oak, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, turned wooden knobs, and secondary timber drawer linings.

Authentic Georgian pieces display period-correct hand-cut dovetail joints, hand-planed secondary timbers, original wooden or brass hardware, and natural timber oxidisation within the drawer interiors.

A miniature chest functions as a functional desktop organiser, jewellery storage box, or decorative accent positioned atop a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bedside table.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a dry soft cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish annually, avoiding direct sunlight and proximity to heat sources.
