This clear lead crystal wine or spirit decanter dates from the period between 1926 and 1950 in the Art Deco style, originating in England. The piece comprises a rounded lower body decorated with diamond cuts, a panel-cut neck with a flared lip, and an original faceted mushroom-cut glass stopper. The surface finish exhibits crisp cutting with high clarity, complemented by flute and prism details on the shoulders and a star-cut base bearing the acid-etched STUART ENGLAND mark. Measuring Height 23.5 cm (including stopper) and Diameter 13 cm, the vessel holds a full bottle of wine or spirits such as whisky and brandy. In a modern home, this decanter provides functional service on a dining table or sideboard top, and also serves as a display item within a gentleman's library or collection of British glassware.

Mid-20th-century British cut crystal decanters are renowned for high lead content, exceptional refractive clarity, and intricate hand-cut geometric patterns such as diamonds and slice cuts.

Traditional decanters were mouth-blown from lead glass, which allowed craftspeople to cut detailed decorative motifs before polishing the surface to create high brilliance.

Authentic pieces often feature fine hand-cut edges rather than moulded seams, acid-etched maker marks on the base, and individually fitted ground-glass stoppers numbered to match the bottle neck.

Display a crystal decanter on a timber sideboard, a polished brass bar cart, or within a gentlemans library setting alongside leather-bound books and classic glassware.

Hand wash with warm water and mild liquid detergent, using soft brushes to reach internal corners, and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth to avoid water spot marks.
