Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

This pair of French art pottery vases dates from the 1920 period and follows an Arts and Crafts style. The stoneware vessels take a baluster form with a flared rim and feature a reactive finish combining a matte slate blue base with a running burgundy and white speckled drip glaze. Visible details include the characteristic overlapping glaze runs and curved ceramic silhouettes designed for display. Each vase measures 31 cm high, 18 cm wide, and 18 cm deep, providing substantial presence for interior settings. Suitable for placement on a mantelpiece within an English Country House interior, these ceramic decorative objects hold dried stems or stand alone as sculptural accents on a surface.

FAQs

Art pottery drip glaze ceramics feature layered liquid glazes applied to earthenware or stoneware, which melt and run down the vessel body during firing to produce unique fluid patterns.

These vessels are typically crafted from refined clay bodies, such as stoneware or earthenware, coated with mineral-based reactive glaze formulations fired at high temperatures.

Authentic art pottery often displays incised artist initials, stamped potter marks or registration numbers on the unglazed base, alongside characteristic hand-thrown production marks and unique glaze variations.

Position the pair symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece or console table, allowing their rich glaze tones to contrast against neutral walls or natural timber surfaces.

Dust gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth, and clean with lukewarm water and mild detergent if required, avoiding abrasive chemicals or prolonged immersion in water.
