This nineteenth-century Swedish country cupboard on stand is constructed from pitch pine and finished in a distressed light blue paint with red trim on the panel doors and single lower drawer. The piece exhibits an arched pediment, a shaped cornice, a shaped frieze, bracket feet, and black iron hinges. The upper cabinet features double doors with a working lock and key, opening to reveal four fixed shelves within a painted interior. The overall structure stands 202.5 cm high, 127.6 cm wide, and 43.2 cm deep. This heavy two-section item suits everyday placement in a hallway, kitchen, dining room, or living room for practical storage.

Swedish country furniture from the nineteenth century often features light-coloured painted finishes, simple pine construction, and architectural elements like arched pediments and panelled doors to maximise light reflection in Scandinavian interiors.

These cabinets were typically constructed from solid local softwoods such as pine, assembled with hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, and finished with mineral or milk-based pigments.

Authentic pieces show uneven paint wear around keyholes, handles, and lower aprons, along with visible timber shrinkage, hand-planed back boards, and hand-forged iron hardware.

The soft blue and grey tones complement modern minimalist or neutral palettes, allowing the piece to serve as a functional focal point in dining spaces, hallways, or living rooms.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and avoid water or chemical detergents that can degrade original paint layers or loosen milk paint finishes.
