The Sheraton Revival style emerged in the late 19th century, drawing heavy inspiration from the neoclassical designs of Thomas Sheraton late 18th-century output, featuring delicate proportions, satinwood inlays, and classical motifs.

These pieces typically utilise high-grade timbers such as mahogany and satinwood, often decorated with intricate marquetry and fine stringing, housing complex mechanical movements driven by weights and pendulums.

Authenticity is determined by examining the timber ageing, the hand-cut dovetail joints, the quality of the marquetry work, and the maker signatures or movement hallmarks inscribed on the brass dial.

Position the clock against a neutral or contrasting wall in a hallway or living room to let its architectural verticality and woodwork stand out as a focal point without cluttering the space.

Keep the clock away from direct sunlight and fluctuating heat sources, ensure it is professionally serviced and oiled every few years, and handle the weights and pendulum with care during relocation.
