Georgian opaque twist glasses feature intricate white enamel threads encased within the stem, a technique developed in mid-eighteenth-century England following the introduction of lead glass.

These vessels were hand-blown using lead glass, with the stems formed by drawing and twisting canes of opaque white enamel glass within a clear glass casing.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor surface wear consistent with age, slight irregularities in the glass manufacture, and traditional air bubbles trapped within the metal.

Historic glassware adds sophisticated texture and historical contrast when displayed in illuminated cabinets, on open shelving, or used as refined accent pieces on dining tables.

Antique glass should be washed exclusively by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh scrubbing and sudden temperature changes to protect the fragile material.
