This 18th century Georgian single series opaque twist wine glass is made from clear English lead glass with white enamel motifs. The object has a rounded funnel-shaped bowl that sits above a stem with an internal lace twist design, finishing in a flat conical foot with a rough pontil mark and an old dealer sticker on the underside. Age-related wear is visible on the rim of the foot, while the rim of the bowl remains clear of chips or cracks. Measuring 16 cm high, 7.5 cm wide and 4.8 cm deep, the piece is designed for display on a sideboard top in an English country house setting. It adds historical character to a dining room or living space when used as a decorative accent or placed among traditional glassware collections.

An 18th-century English drinking glass featuring white enamel threads encased within a clear glass stem, produced predominantly between 1755 and 1780.

Glassmakers arranged rods of opaque white glass inside a cylindrical mould, covered them with clear molten glass, and drew and twisted the hot gather to create spiral patterns.

Authentic period pieces typically display slight hand-made asymmetries, natural foot rim wear, conical feet, and the heavier feel characteristic of lead crystal.

These historical pieces can be displayed inside illuminated glass cabinets, arranged on sideboards, or integrated into formal dining table settings.

Wash stemware carefully by hand in lukewarm water using mild washing-up liquid, avoiding sudden temperature changes and harsh abrasives, then dry immediately with a soft lint-free cloth.
