This eighteenth-century Georgian wine glass originates from England around 1770 and is crafted in the style of the period from clear and white lead glass with enamel elements. The hand-blown glass piece comprises a tall ogee bowl, a double-series opaque twist stem with white enamel threads creating an intricate internal pattern, and a plain conical foot. Measuring 14 cm high with a rim diameter of 5 cm and a base diameter of 6.7 cm, the object weighs 128 grams and is in very good condition. Place this glassware upon a dining table sideboard top for display or use during formal dinners and gatherings in an English country house interior. The clear vessel holds wine or spirits while showcasing traditional drinking glass manufacturing techniques from the Georgian era.

Opaque twist wine glasses were produced in Britain predominantly between 1750 and 1780, characterised by intricate white enamel spirals encased within a clear lead glass stem.

Craftspeople embedded rods of opaque white enamel glass inside a cylinder of molten clear lead glass, which was drawn out and twisted to form internal spiral patterns.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit pontil marks on the foot, slight irregularities in hand-blown shapes, heavy lead glass density, and natural wear marks on the rim of the base.

These stemware pieces can be displayed inside glass cabinets, arranged on dining room sideboards, or positioned along open shelving as light-reflecting decorative objects.

Antique glass should be hand-washed individually in lukewarm water with mild detergent, dried immediately with a soft lint-free cloth, and kept away from extreme temperature shifts.
