A tazza is an elevated pedestal dish originating from the Renaissance, which saw a major resurgence during the Victorian era for serving fruit, sweets, and desserts at formal dining tables.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, shaped using blown or pressed techniques, and hand-finished with wheel-cut facets and acid-etched or frosted details.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor surface wear, slight optical distortions in the glass, polished pontil marks on the base, and hand-cut facets with sharp, crisp edges characteristic of 19th-century manufacturing.

It can be used as a sophisticated tabletop accent on a sideboard or dining table, either left empty to display its craftsmanship or utilized to hold seasonal botanicals, fruit, or small collectibles.

Antique glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent, and dried thoroughly with a lint-free cloth. It must never be placed in a dishwasher or exposed to sudden temperature changes.
