A Scottish mahogany long case timepiece clock, by James Gray, of Edinburgh, dated 1795.
 
The 12'' painted break arch dial, with classical motifs, having a subsidiary seconds dial, and a rare date painted on either side of the winding aperture. The single train movement, with tapered plates having a duration of eight days
 
The particularly elegant mahogany case, with inlaid boxwood lines, and finely figured veneers on the trunk door and plinth.
