As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this lovely miniature Shodana cabinet stood on what we consider to be, its original hardwood stand, the miniature cabinet is finished in a typical black ground , used to highlight the very decorative multi metal Damascene work, the cabinet stands on four stylish bracket feet that sit below a continuous band of Dragons , the front and rear panels depict typical Japanese landscapes and places of interest , the side panels depict exotic birds amidst Wisteria and other native flora , the pagoda shaped top panel is decorated with Flying Cranes with Mt Fuji as the backdrop.

The interior is superbly decorated with a pair of Dragons chasing a flaming pearl to the inside of the doors, a Ho-o Bird (Phoenix) to the lower drawer , meanwhile a further combination of Damascened drawers and shelves finish of the pristine condition interior, a very useful place for small jewellery and trinkets , the underside is signed with a mountain mark in gilt , this mark would have been used by one of the many factory's working in the manner of , and looking to emulate the more famous Komai Company, the cabinet stands nicely upon its finely pierced hardwood stand.

The condition is lovely and original , the interior is like the day it was made, the exterior with minor age related cleaning wear .
