Vintage Long Cultured Pearl Necklace with Amethyst 9ct Gold Clasp – 1960s

A superb 1960s long cultured pearl necklace, combining timeless elegance with exceptional versatility.

Measuring an impressive 30.5 inches / 77cm, the necklace is composed of beautifully matched cultured pearls, each approximately 7.5mm in diameter. The pearls display a lovely silver-ivory colour with a rich, deep lustre, giving the strand a luxurious appearance and graceful weight when worn.

The necklace has recently been professionally restrung in October 2026, with each pearl individually hand-knotted in the traditional manner for both security and a beautifully supple drape.

A particularly attractive feature is the floral cluster clasp, crafted in 9ct gold and decorated with creamy seed pearls surrounding a central 5mm faceted purple amethyst. The clasp measures approximately 13mm across and is fitted with a secure push-lock fastening together with a fine safety chain.

The generous length makes this an especially versatile jewel. It can be worn as a single elegant long strand, doubled around the neckline for a classic two-row effect, or softly knotted for a more relaxed and contemporary look.
