Vintage Double Strand Cultured Pearl Necklace 9ct Gold Pearl Clasp Birmingham 1969

A beautifully elegant double strand cultured pearl necklace, dating to 1969 and finished with a charming pearl-set 9ct gold cluster clasp.

The necklace comprises two graduated rows of individually hand-knotted cultured pearls in a soft ivory cream colour, displaying an excellent lustre and a smooth, evenly matched appearance.

The two strands sit gracefully together around the neckline, creating the wonderfully classic layered look associated with fine mid-century pearl jewellery.

The necklace is completed by a particularly attractive flower-shaped pearl cluster clasp, formed from cultured pearls mounted in 9ct gold. The clasp can be positioned traditionally at the back or worn slightly to the side as a decorative feature.

Fully hallmarked Birmingham 1969, with maker's initials TJ, the clasp fastens securely with a box push-hook fitting.
