Mahogany Linen Press C.1860

Description

Mid 19th.c. mahogany linen press or wardrobe c.1860. In two sections with a two door cupboard top (internal depth 18") fitted with two large sliding shelves over two small drawers. On a base with three large drawers of graduated height. Moulded cornice with flame mahogany veneers. Arched panel doors with a brass trim at the centre, original locks and latches. Matched veneers to the drawer fronts with the original large turned mahogany drawer knobs. Very good colour and condition with some previous repairs and restorations. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Cupboard key supplied.

Top could be fitted with a hanging rail instead of the sliding shelves if preferred.

This mid-19th century Victorian linen press or wardrobe from 1860 is constructed from mahogany with flame mahogany veneers and finished in a deep dark brown colour. The tall two-section piece stands on a base and features a pronounced moulded cornice at the top, a pair of arched panel doors accented with a central brass trim, and three full-width graduated drawers below fitted with cockbeading and large turned wooden knob handles.
