An Edwardian music cabinet stands in warm brown mahogany, complemented by lighter satinwood inlay stringing around the drawers and doors. The piece comprises three upper drawers fitted with brass swan-neck handles, above a twin-door lower cupboard with a central brass drop ring handle. A pierced cresting gallery crowns the top, while slender square tapered legs support the base. General wear and marks appear across the timber, alongside an old glued small split to the corner of the top surface. Measuring 113 cm high, 54 cm wide, and 47 cm deep, this compact storage unit fits easily into a variety of domestic settings. The interior storage serves practical purposes for sheet music, papers, or everyday items. Placed in a hallway, study, or living room, it functions effectively as a collectors chest, filing cabinet, or general storage chest in a traditional interior.

An Edwardian music cabinet is a slender item of furniture produced in the early 20th century, specifically designed to store sheet music, bound scores, and musical manuscripts in drawing rooms.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, decorated with satinwood or boxwood stringing inlay, and fitted with brass handles and thin internal shelving or shallow drawers.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, fine geometric wood inlays, thin timber drawer linings, period-correct brass hardware, and slender tapered legs characteristic of early 1900s craftsmanship.

The narrow proportions allow it to fit into hallways, alcoves, or home offices where it can function as storage for paperwork, vinyl records, or stationery.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry microfiber cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish along the wood grain twice a year, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or damp walls.
