Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 1920 Art Deco bow-fronted cocktail cabinet consists of a two-door upper section with a shaped cornice and a matching two-door lower section, standing on carved cabriole legs with scroll feet and a central carved shell motif on the apron. The piece is constructed from warm brown burr walnut veneer with distinct figuring, complemented by brass keyhole escutcheons, a dangling tassel key fob, and rope-twist moulding separating the upper and lower compartments. Measuring 152.5 cm high, 83.5 cm wide, and 62 cm deep, this substantial furniture item provides versatile storage space for drinksware, bottles, and bar accessories in a dining room, living room, or hallway. The curved silhouette and richly grained timber surfaces create a striking focal point suited to both traditional and contemporary interior schemes seeking practical vintage storage.

FAQs

A burr walnut cocktail cabinet is a specialized item of storage furniture designed for housing spirits, glassware, and bar accessories, characterized by distinctive burr walnut wood veneers.

These pieces typically feature timber frames made from oak or mahogany, overlaid with cut burr walnut veneers attached using traditional hide glues.

Authentic cabinets display hand-cut dovetail joinery, original brass escutcheons or hinges, fitted glass or mirrored interiors, and natural surface patination.

Place the cabinet in a dining room, reception room, or hallway corner, complemented by warm ambient lighting and neutral wall tones to accentuate the wood grain.

Dust surfaces gently using a soft microfibre cloth and apply a clear beeswax polish twice annually, keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
