Description

A Garniture of Minton Porcelain Vases decorated by Thomas Steele c1830. Each vase of 'Elgin' shape, finely decorated with a well executed panel of flowers on a marble table by Thomas Steel. Marks: + sign on a circle in gold.

Middle Vase 24 cm high

Two smaller vases 17 cm high

Condition: A few small chips to the base of the central vase, otherwise all three vases are in excellent order.

Popularised in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, English manufacturers such as Minton produced these sets in odd-numbered arrangements featuring matching ground colours, elaborate gilding, and central hand-painted panels.
