Tom Scott Antiques has dated this French Samuel Marti Clock to the 1890s.
This is a good size mantle clock, shown on a pier cabinet for a perspective.
The 8 day movement runs very well, keeping accurate time and also have a very gentle “gong.”

The rear of the clock has a glass panel, showing the working mechanism and further brass inlay to the inside of the door.
Great clock, the size it is will stand on a much wider piece of furniture if not placing it on a deep mantle.
