Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A hanging corner cupboard is a space-saving furniture piece featuring a flat or angled back designed specifically to fit into ninety-degree room corners. Mounting directly to the wall, these pieces historically provided secure storage for precious household goods, tableware, or linens.

Georgian examples were predominantly crafted from solid native hardwoods such as oak, pine, or mahogany. Construction features typically include hand-cut dovetail joints, pegged mortise and tenon joinery, raised panel doors, and decorative crossbanding or marquetry inlays.

Authentic period corner cupboards exhibit signs of age such as hand-sawn backboards, irregularities in timber thickness, original brass or steel H-hinges, bone or brass escutcheons, and natural shrinkage or patination on the oak surfaces.

In modern interiors, a wall-mounted oak corner cupboard serves as a functional focal point in dining rooms, halls, or kitchens. Paired with neutral wall colours, natural textiles, and modern minimalist ceramics, it introduces warmth and historical texture into contemporary spaces.

Preserve antique oak by applying a thin layer of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year to maintain moisture and patina. Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent wood shrinkage, warping, or fading.
