Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Famille Rose is a style of Chinese porcelain introduced during the Qing Dynasty in the early 18th century. It is defined by overglaze enamel painting using an opaque pink pigment derived from colloidal gold, often depicting figurative court scenes, flowers, and butterflies.

These pieces are crafted from fine white kaolin clay, fired at high temperatures to create hard-paste porcelain. The surface decoration uses vitreous overglaze enamels and applied gold leaf accents.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-painted overglaze enamel decoration with raised texture, slight irregularities in the porcelain body, and natural wear to the gilded elements. They often feature distinct palette variations, detailed brushwork, and occasionally red seal marks or character marks on the base.

A large statement vase can be placed on a sideboard, console table, or inside a fireplace alcove to serve as a visual anchor. It pairs effectively with modern minimalist furniture or traditional dark wood antiques to create visual contrast.

Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a soft bristle brush around gilded handles and relief work. Avoid washing with abrasive detergents or submersing in water, as moisture can damage compromised glazes or original gilding.
