Antique German Württemberg Mantel Clock, c.1890
A late 19th century German mantel clock, originating from Württemberg.
The architectural pine case is of attractive design, with a shaped pediment surmounted by an urn finial, carved foliate panel, and turned fluted columns flanking the dial. The glazed front door opens to reveal a decorative dial with Roman numerals, a gilt foliate centre, and blued steel hands.
The movement is a one-day mechanism striking the hours on a coiled gong. The pendulum and winding key are present.
Dimensions:
Height: 44.5 cm
Width: 27 cm
Depth: 15 cm
Condition: Good overall condition with a warm mellow tone to the case. Minor wear and marks in keeping with age. The dial shows rubbing from use. Movement appears complete but, as with all antique clocks, is sold unguaranteed.
