This Edwardian mantel clock exhibits a warm brown mahogany case with floral marquetry inlay on the arched top and four square-shaped feet. The single glazed front door opens to reveal an ornate brass dial featuring ornate brass spandrels, a silvered chapter ring, original hands, and a signed face. A working lock is fitted to the side of the case, and a winding key rests nearby on the surface. Measuring 42 cm high, 30 cm wide, and 21 cm deep, the eight-day chiming movement incorporates striking functions for the quarters, halves, three-quarters, and hours. Positioned on a mantelpiece, this timepiece suits a gentleman's library or study, bringing traditional timekeeping and period design to a living room, hallway, or office shelf.

Produced during the reign of King Edward VII (19011910), these clocks are characterised by classical proportions, arched tops, rich mahogany casings, and intricate marquetry or wood inlays reflecting Neo-Georgian revival influences.

Cases were predominantly built from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, decorated with satinwood inlays, while internal mechanisms featured solid brass plates, steel arbors, and cast brass spandrels framing a silvered chapter ring.

Authentic pieces feature mechanical eight-day hand-wound movements, genuine wood marquetry rather than printed patterns, cast brass decorative accents, and traditional key-winding arbors on the dial face.

Position the clock as a focal point on a central fireplace mantelpiece, a dining room sideboard, or within a styled bookcase alongside contemporary ceramics to blend classic horology with modern aesthetics.

Keep the casing away from direct sunlight, central heating radiators, and high humidity, dust regularly with a soft lint-free cloth, and have the mechanical movement professionally cleaned and lubricated every three to five years.
