This remarkable pair of nineteenth-century Victorian floor trumpet vases originates from the notable collection of Brocklesby Park, the ancestral seat in Lincolnshire. Formed in deep cranberry red glass with a striking trumpet silhouette, the pieces exhibit flared scalloped rims at the top and domed pedestal bases at the floor, joined by distinctive metal collar connections. The glass displays a rich translucent red coloration alongside silvered metal fittings. Each substantial decorative object stands 202 cm high with a width and depth of 35 cm. Such monumental nineteenth-century glassware provides a strong focal point in a home today, well-suited for placement in an empty corner of a grand hallway, drawing room, or reception space.

Cranberry glass, also known as Gold Ruby glass, gained immense popularity during the Victorian era. The distinct red hue was achieved by adding gold chloride to molten glass, resulting in a rich tone widely used for luxury decorative items and ceremonial vessels.

These tall floor vases were typically hand-blown in sections. The long tubular stem and flared rim were formed separately from the domed pedestal base and joined together using metal collars or brass fittings to provide structural stability.

Authentic pieces feature variations in colour intensity caused by hand-mixing gold salts, pontil marks on the base from the makers pipe, and minor glass inclusions or air bubbles characteristic of period hand-blown production techniques.

Large glass floor vases serve as architectural accents when placed in empty room corners, alcoves, or flanking a fireplace to draw the eye upward and add vertical proportions to a room scheme.

Clean antique glass using lukewarm water and mild dish soap applied with a microfibre cloth. Avoid extreme temperature changes, abrasive chemicals, and immersion of metal fittings to prevent stress fractures or tarnishing.
