FJ & RD Story Antique Clocks has dated this Mahogany Fusee Bracket Clock to the 19th Century.
The well proportioned case veneered in figured fiddle back mahogany. The elegant pediment top, surmounted by the original brass ball finial. Cast brass silk lined fishscale frets to the sides. Locking cast brass bezel with convex glass and the original lock to the glazed rear door. The recess panelled front with step moulded plinth standing on four ogee cast brass feet.
The circular white enamelled dial, signed to the centre J Durden, London.
Heavy brass bob pendulum, with London style rating adjustment and knurled thumbscrew pendulum restraint.
Beautiful blued steel hands of fleur de lis design.
An elegant, well proportioned original clock with the movement fully restored.
