An epergne is a decorative centrepiece used on dining tables during the 19th century, typically featuring multiple arms or horns to hold fruit, flowers, or sweetmeats.

Uranium glass is created by adding a small percentage of uranium dioxide to the glass melt before forming, which causes the material to fluoresce brightly under ultraviolet light.

Authentication involves examining the casting quality of the metal mount, checking for hand-blown glass characteristics such as pontil marks, and verifying the presence of uranium through UV light testing.

This object can be styled as a focal point on a mantelpiece or sideboard, allowing its reflective glass and metallic finishes to contrast against modern minimalist surfaces.

Pieces should be cleaned gently using a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, avoiding harsh chemical solvents that could damage the delicate gilding on the metal mount or the historical glass surface.
