c. 1880 Superb French Ormolu Gilt Bronze 8-Day Mantel Clock with 2 Doves

Brief Description:

This is a superb quality and very original 19th-century French Ormolu Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock.

The heavy and very elegant piece has an 8-day movement that chimes on a bell ring, every half hour.

The wonderful, solid gilt bronze ormolu case has a pair of Dove finials, rising above foliate scrolls and a circular hand-painted enamelled clock face.

Comes complete with the pendulum and a working key.

The piece currently works well; however, as always, we are unable to guarantee the accuracy or function of an antique clock movement, so a service is always strongly recommended.
