DESCRIPTION:
Here we have an excellent example of a military marked 8-day clock by Smiths, in a bakelite case. This pendulum clock is fully marked on the dial with a prominent broad arrow, and on the inside of the door is another broad arrow mark with the number 310, it is also fully marked on inside of the case with 'KA 1356'. The clock comes with its original pendulum and 'SMITHS ENFIELD' marked key.

From 1938 the Smiths Enfield name was used on clocks but from c1952 all clocks were simply marked Smiths and the Enfield name was lost indicating theis clock was made between 1938 and 1952 and as such is likely to have been used in WW2.
To the rear is the door to access the movement. The door is open and closed by a catch.
The movement is stamped with with the 'SMITHS MADE IN GT BRITIAN BY THE ENFIELD CLOCK CO LTD 5210'. In addition this clock comes complete with it's winding key and pendulum.

DIMENSIONS:
The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are:
8 3/4 inches (22 cm) wide.
4 3/4 inches (12 cm) deep.
8 inches (20.5 cm) high
AGE: The clock is dated 1962.
CONDITION:
The case is in superb condition as can be seen from the photographs, as with any vintage items just minor marks commensurate with age and very careful use. The movement is nice and clean, as can be seen from the photographs, and is in perfect working order. The small loop to the rear door catch is lacking. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
This military clock would be a great addition to any collection.
