Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Promotional automobilia desk clocks were commissioned by motor manufacturers, garages, or racing venues as corporate gifts or dealership display pieces during the mid-20th century. Typically produced by established clockmakers like Smiths, these timepieces incorporated company logos onto the dial.

Clocks from this era typically featured chromium-plated metal frames, glass face covers, and stamped metal dials with painted or embossed graphics. The internal movements were primarily mechanical hand-wound mechanisms constructed from brass and steel components.

Authentic pieces feature crisp dial printing or embossing, proper maker markings such as SMITHS or MADE IN GT BRITAIN, and era-appropriate mechanical hand-wound movements accessible from the rear casing.

A vintage mechanical clock functions as a focal accent on an executive desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece. It integrates effectively into industrial, mid-century modern, or classic study spaces alongside leather and dark wood accents.

Dust the exterior regularly using a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive polishes on plated metal surfaces to prevent wearing through the chromium finish, and have the mechanical movement serviced by a professional horologist if intended for daily timekeeping.
