Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Japanese celadon porcelain, known historically as seiji, is distinguished by its translucent green or pale blue-green glaze achieved through iron reduction firing. Originating from Chinese ceramic traditions, Japanese potters refined these production techniques during the Edo and Meiji eras to produce smooth, jade-resembling ceramic vessels.

Celadon ceramics are formed from fine porcelain or stoneware clay bodies coated with a glaze containing small concentrations of iron oxide. When fired at high temperatures in a reduction kiln atmosphere, the oxygen restriction transforms the iron oxide glaze into its characteristic pale green hue.

Authentic pieces frequently feature impressed or painted artist seals on the base, precise potting weight, and depth of glaze without modern synthetic uniformities. Inspecting the unglazed foot rim reveals the density, colour, and refined texture of the underlying porcelain clay.

Positioning a celadon vase on a dark wood sideboard or console table creates sharp visual contrast against the pale glazed finish. The vessel functions effectively as a standalone sculptural object or styled alongside simple foliage and minimal floral arrangements.

Dust the ceramic vessel regularly using a dry, soft lint-free cloth and avoid abrasive cleaning pads or chemicals that could dull the glazed finish. If washing is required, use lukewarm water with gentle liquid soap and dry immediately with a soft towel.
