Fine Quality Regency Mahogany Bracket Clock by James McCabe, London with 8 day, 5 pillar fusee movement striking the hour on a bell with repeat strike. James McCabe was from a watch & clock making family in Belfast. The family being much esteemed for their fine watches & clocks. He came to London at the latter part of the 18th century & worked at various addresses until settling at 97 Cornhill Royal Exchange in 1804. This fine quality example of his work is in lovely original condition with its original brass handles & original cast brass bezel. Its mahogany case with decorative brass inlay & fine carved detailing to the shaped pediment is in excellent condition. The movement is in good working order & keeps excellent time.
