Antique late 19th-century Sitzendorf Dresden porcelain potpourri vases
This exquisite pair of Sitzendorf porcelain potpourri vases, crafted in Dresden in the late 19th century, features hand-painted intricate floral patterns and applied floral decorations. The Sitzendorf Porcelain Factory, founded in 1850 by Wilhelm Liebmann in Thuringia, Germany, became famous for its finely detailed porcelain inspired by Rococo and Baroque styles. Known for its intricate floral applications and ornate designs, Sitzendorf overcame challenges like financial hardships and rebuilding after a fire in 1858 to operate successfully for over a century.
