A rare and impressive 16th Century Oak Coffer, Inlaid with Nonsuch type panels within bold applied arcaded sections and inlaid pilasters. The rails and uprights carved beautifully with guilloche and flowers to the centre. To the base are the most wonderful large carved brackets with circular flower decoration to the centre. The top panelled with applied moulded sections to striking affect. The ends equally well carved with inlaid checkered banding to the double panels. Of good colour and In extraordinary original condition, having the original butterfly hinges and fabulous lock plate and hasp.
