We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Opaque twist wine glasses feature stems enclosing white or coloured enamel glass rods, twisted into complex lattice or gauze formations, produced predominantly in England during the mid-to-late 18th century.

These pieces were crafted from lead glass, known for its high refractive index and weight, with the intricate stem motifs formed by drawing and twisting canes of opaque white glass within a molten casing.

Authentic examples typically exhibit a rough snapped pontil mark on the underside of the foot, wear scratches consistent with age, and small trapped air bubbles or striations within the handmade glass body.

Displaying antique stemware within glass-fronted cabinets or on open shelving allows light to pass through the clear lead glass and highlight the intricate details of the historical twist stems.

Antique glass should be washed exclusively by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and dishwashers to prevent thermal shock and surface abrasion.
