Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chippendale style grandmother clocks combine the reduced height of a compact longcase clock with eighteenth-century cabinetmaking motifs. They typically feature swan-neck pediments, carved scrollwork, fluted quarter-columns, and brass dials housed within a mahogany casing.

Longcase clocks are traditionally constructed using dense hardwoods such as mahogany, oak, or walnut for the outer cabinet. The clockwork mechanisms utilise cast brass gears and plates, regulated by a suspended pendulum and weight system.

Authentic pieces display hand-carved decorative trim, hand-cut joinery on the case, and cast brass spandrels surrounding the dial face. Examination of the mechanical movement and weight system often reveals original horological markings and hand-finished brass components.

A grandmother clock acts as a slender architectural accent in entryways, stair landings, or living room alcoves. Pairing the dark timber with light modern wall paint and contemporary artwork highlights the traditional craftsmanship without overwhelming the space.

Keep the casing level on an even floor surface to ensure consistent pendulum movement. Wipe the timber surfaces with a dry microfiber cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals, and arrange professional horological maintenance periodically to clean and oil the clock movement.
