Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
It has silk backed, brass sound frets to the sides and matching frets to the lower half of the case beneath the dial. It has a brass surround padtop and brass carrying handle and brass splicing to the front corners. It stands on four brass ball feet.

The 7" dia. convex silvered dial has engraved black Roman numerals, nicely cut hands, and a cast brass bezel enclosing the convex glass, key opening, door.
The 8 day movement strikes on the half-hour and the number of hours on the hour. It has just been fully overhauled by our own BHI registered horologist and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee.
