~ French - Circa 1880 ~~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~A beautiful Louis XVI style classical cartel wall clock, superbly made in gilded bronze. Of elegant design, with draped laurel swags, rams heads and a glazed aperture below the dial to allow the bronze sunburst pendulum to be seen gently swinging.The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with delicate floral swags between the numerals and original finely fretted gilt brass hands.The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
