The Georgian period spans the reigns of the four King Georges from 1714 to 1830, a time when glass production evolved significantly following the introduction of lead crystal and the implementation of the Glass Excise Act.

Pieces from this era were typically hand-blown using lead glass batch formulations, featuring techniques such as applied stems, pontil mark scars on the base, and folded feet for added structural strength.

Authentic examples often display characteristic manufacturing traits including a rough snapped pontil mark on the underside, surface wear consistent with age, minor inclusions or bubbles within the metal, and specific stem configurations typical of the period.

Such historic items are typically displayed within illuminated cabinets, on open shelving units, or utilised carefully as tabletop accents to introduce historical texture and refined silhouette into modern spaces.

Items should be washed exclusively by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and harsh abrasives to protect the delicate historic surface.
