Georgian wine glasses from the 18th century typically feature heavy lead glass composition, distinct stem formations such as air twists or balusters, and folded feet to ensure stability.

These vessels were primarily produced using lead glass or flint glass, which incorporated high levels of lead oxide to increase brilliance, weight, and workability.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor surface imperfections or inclusions within the metal, and characteristic wear patterns consistent with age and manual production methods.

These items can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, utilised as tabletop centrepieces, or styled on open shelving to introduce historical texture and refined silhouette into modern spaces.

Antique glass should always be hand-washed cautiously in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive materials to protect the delicate surface.
