A Set of Five Delft Vases.
The 18th century Delft set of garniture vases and covers, comprising a pair of trumpet vases, and three matching vases and covers. The covers, each with a bell shaped octagonal body, topped by an upward looking Foo Dog holding an orb. The rims finished with a scalloped edge. The covers fitting within the raised collars of the vase, each of octagonal baluster shape, spreading at the foot to a scallop edge. The pair of trumpet vases, likewise with scallop rims, and a scallop edged foot. The whole in an unusual densely decorated form of flowers, set amongst scrolling foliage. The rear of the vases with sprigs of flowers and hanging leaves.
All in very good condition.
Date circa 1750.
