Early 18th Cent Walnut Long Case Longcase Grandfather Clock

18th century
Description

A handsome early 18th Cent Longcase clock by Richard Haughtin, Fetter Lane, London. He is listed as working there from 1691 to 1714.

The nicely proportioned case looks very smart in highly figured walnut. The trunk door has a glass lentical to observe the swing of the pendulum. The trunk door has a working lock and key

The 8 day, 5 pillar movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a smart brass dial with a silvered chapter ring and gilt spandrels. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator. It has brass cased weights.

The case is in good condition but as is usual with clocks of this age has had some historic restoration, particularly to the base.

The movement is in good working order and keeping good time. It looks to have had little use since being serviced.

Free local delivery and setup (70mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
