The Georgian style spans the reigns of the first four Georges, characterised by classical proportions, symmetry, and the transition from walnut to mahogany as the primary timber.

Cabinet makers predominantly used solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, often complemented by brass handles, oak secondary woods, and hand-cut dovetail joints.

Authenticity is identified through construction methods such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional timber shrinkage, period-correct fixings, and natural patina accumulated over centuries.

Pairing historical timber pieces with contemporary minimalism creates a balanced scheme, using the rich dark wood to ground neutral bedroom palettes.

Protect antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and maintain the finish using traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone sprays.
