Handsome Regency inverted breakfront bookcase / cabinet in striking Gonçalo Alves; of an unusual and stylish design;the well figured top with raised pedestal ends having carved stiff leaf mouldings above the breakfront frieze with carved foliate decoration. The open bookcase centre with two adjustable shelves all veneered in Gonçalo Alves showing a sign of exceptional quality. Flanked by arched glazed doors with original brass lattice grills and locks housing adjustable shelves; raised on an inverted breakfront plinth with a thumbnail moulded edge. Excellent striking colour and surface.
