ANTIQUE #SA1002003

Rare Mid 19th Century Drum Dial Clock Signed Pearson & Price

£2,550    $3,455    €3,004
Very elegant mahogany dial clock with cast brass bezel and silvered sight ring. The silvered brass dial with Roman numerals, minute marker, hour markers and name and address, would have been deeply engraved and then filled with black wax and finally silvered. This would have been a very time consuming and costly process but the end result would last for hundreds of years. This is worth mentioning because ninety nine percent of dial clocks would have had a simple painted iron dial . Fine quality brass, eight day, spring and chain driven movement. We believe the clock was commissioned by Pearson & Price to perhaps hang in their up-market sop at 11 Great Sutton street, London. Fully serviced with one years guarantee.
